Kerry has a background in social science research, and experience across charity, education and government sectors. She has worked with youth justice and probation services around the UK on developing risk assessment tools. She is a published author on good risk assessment practice in social work and criminal justice. Kerry was a policy advisor to the Youth Justice Board and contributed to the early development of MAPPA guidance. She has also been a university lecturer and worked internationally with research centres and criminal justice organisations in a number of countries on risk management procedures and skills.
Kerry is a trained mediator and has experience of working with families and neighbours in conflict.
In her role as Safeguarding Advisor with Thirtyone:eight, she delivers on a variety of safeguarding consultancy services (Risk reviews, Safeguarding consultations, Safeguarding Audits etc) including offering bespoke support to organisations as part of Service agreement arrangements. She also supports on the Out of hours team offering emergency safeguarding advice and support to member and non-member organisations.
She is an active member of a local church and committed to developing good practice in safeguarding and pastoral care within the church.
