Meet our Trustees and Company Directors

Bridget Robb

Chair of Trustees

Bridget worked as a local authority social worker before moving to run the social work programme at Oxford Brookes University. Her last job was as CEO of the British Association of Social Workers and General Secretary of the Social Workers Union. She is now co-chair of the Social Workers Benevolent Trust. She is a member of her local Anglican church and an independent member of the Peterborough Diocesan Safeguarding Advisory Panel. She is also a Foundation Governor and vice-chair of a local Church of England primary school.

Peter Wharrad

Vice-Chair of Trustees

Peter has extensive experience at director level in a wide range of commercial organisations, specialising in tax, finance and governance, and he is currently a director of an international ministry focused on equipping churches and church leaders. Outside of work, he is active in his local church and has previously spent many years involved in church leadership, including leading on safeguarding. 

Julie Douglas


Julie is a registered social worker, working with children and families in a large Local Authority; she was a Probation Officer for seven years at the start of her social work career.  Julie has been involved in church leadership most of her life and has delivered safeguarding training within churches for over 25 years.   She is on the safeguarding team at her local church. 

Dr Tanya Herring


Tanya is a scholar-practitioner and an international criminal law and international human rights doctoral researcher with Bangor University Law School, Wales, post-doctoral researcher with the Wales Observatory for Youth and Human Rights, research fellow with ICO of London.  Her specialism is in international State responsibility and obligations in crimes against children and vulnerable populations. 

Oliver Home


Oliver is the Executive Chair of the Diocesan Chief Executives' network in the Church of England, supporting, representing and integrating dioceses' work nationwide. He sits on a range of national Church of England bodies and groups. For the previous seven years, he served as Diocesan Secretary & Chief Executive of the Diocese of Bristol where he was, amongst other things, the safeguarding lead. Oliver lives in Bristol and is active in his local church.


Angela Ward


Angela has more than 30 years' experience in journalism and PR and runs her own content creation and media agency.  Prior to this, she was PR Manager for one of the UK's top hospice care charity's working with children and vulnerable adults.  She has experience as a volunteer through her work for a cancer charity following the death of her four-year old daughter from neuroblastoma in 2004.
