Jane is a safeguarding specialist with 20 years’ experience in implementing strong organisational systems and providing consultancy services. Jane is an experienced reviewer and author of investigations across large and diverse organisations for example Local Authorities and Health Trusts. She has also worked on 16 Serious Case Reviews carried out when a child dies or is seriously harmed and when agencies have failed to work together. 

Jane delivers training on all kinds of safeguarding subjects including; Child and Adult Protection for staff and governance, Record Keeping, Allegations Management, the Prevent agenda (Home Office Accredited) and Safer Recruitment (NCTL accredited).

Experience:

Jane has worked managing allegations of abuse against members of staff and volunteers and was a Safeguarding Manager for Education and Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) for 12 years. She was elected the first National LADO Network Chair in 2016 and chaired the South West Safeguarding in Education Group for ten years.

Jane is also an accredited lead reviewer by the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE), drawing out complex themes and sustainable learning recommendations from challenging situations. As part of this, Jane has worked alongside a significant number of survivors of abuse, ensuring their views form  part of effective learning.  

Qualifications:

Post Graduate Certificate in Child Protection

BSc Hons Psychology

Diploma in Health and Social Welfare

Certificate in Psychodynamic Counselling.
