Summer is the perfect time for holiday camps and residentials where children and young people can come together for fun, worship and friendship. But any club, residential or camp should be carefully thought through with the safety and wellbeing of those attending put at the forefront of all your activities.
Everyone volunteering or working at these events has a responsibility to prevent harm, recognise the signs of abuse, understand risks and boundaries, and create a safe environment.
If you plan holiday camps, youth camps, residentials or anything similar you likely know the challenges of getting everyone on-site trained and aware of good safeguarding practice. Until now, getting everyone from chefs to stewards, leaders to sound crew, and everyone in between trained has not been practical or affordable.
And yet, calls to our helpline increase every summer from people on site, at residentials, who didn’t plan to support children with additional needs properly, or don’t know how to respond to teenagers who are self-harming, or how to handle sleeping arrangements when there are gender identity issues.
We’re here to help
As independent, Christian, safeguarding experts, we are uniquely placed to understand the challenges you face running your events, and how to resolve them. This is why we have developed a specialist online training session, that’s specific to your type of event, and that’s not only practical, it’s affordable.
The training has been developed with the input of Christian organisations that run large-scale and smaller events every summer. And it will give you confidence that your planning and onsite activities will make for a fun, and safe, event.

The training is fully accessible and aligns with safeguarding legislation from all four UK Nations (Scotland, Northern Ireland, England and Wales).
This specialist training simply does not exist anywhere else.
Pricing
Event organisers tell us that the reason they don’t train everyone on-site is the cost. There are often tens if not hundreds of volunteers and staff. We understand, and so we’ve worked hard to price our training at a level that enables you to give your teams the training they need.

When it comes to holiday camps and residentials, you can’t be prepared for absolutely everything. But, knowing you are well prepared, with robust safeguards in place, and that your teams all have the same level of understanding is key to peace of mind both before, and during the event. This means discipleship, friendship and worship can be fun and safe!
