Congratulations your application is complete!
What next?
Identity verification
In line with the DBS code of practice, all applicants requiring a DBS check must have their identity verified. There are two ways to do this and your Recruiter will tell you which one to use.
Option 1 - Digitally and remotely via our certified identity service provider (IDSP).
You will receive an email with unique link to upload your documents and a photo to our certified identity service provider platform.
Option 2 – Providing your original identification to the Recruiter.
You will be asked to give your original identification to them. You can find a list of acceptable documents here ID checking guidelines for standard/enhanced DBS check applications from 1 July 2021 - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
If you supplied an email address whilst entering your application, as soon as your application has been received at the DBS and is assigned a DBS Application Reference number you will receive a second email detailing this information. This email will also include details and links to the DBS website to enable you to track the progress of your application from the moment the disclosure process commences.
You can also use your DBS application reference number to register with the DBS update service.
Once the disclosure process is complete, the DBS will post your certificate directly to you at the current address you provided on your application. Please be aware that this is an important document and your Recruiter may need you to show your certificate to them before you start work in your role.
If your certificate fails to arrive in the post, a free of charge reprint can be requested within 93 days of the original issue date. Details of how you can request a reprint can be viewed at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/dbs-certificate-reprint-guide/dbs-certificate-reprint-guide
If a certificate has been lost or misplaced, a new application will need to be completed to obtain another copy.
