If an application for a paid role has been at stage 4 with the police for more than 28 days and there is a deadline where if the certificate is not issued the person will lose their job or the employment offer will be withdrawn, then it is possible we can request a ‘Risk to employment escalation’.
It is important to stress, that a risk to employment escalation is not a guarantee the application will be completed by the deadline date, but it is escalated with the police as a critical case by the DBS.
The DBS will not contact the manager or person making the employment decision, but they need this as there is a very small chance the police may need to contact them.
