Recruiter
Organisations that process criminal record checks should appoint a person or people to act as a Recruiter.
A Recruiter is the person responsible for verifying the identity of the person applying for a check by viewing relevant identity documents and information.
This is critical to the process as the identity information provided is used to search for any relevant police records and entries on the barred lists where relevant.
A Recruiter will also ensure that eligibility rules are met and that checks are submitted on time.
This process is crucial in preventing unsuitable or dangerous individuals gaining access to children and adults at risk. Operating a safer recruitment policy is a clear message to parents, children, and visitors, as well as those intent on causing harm, that safeguarding children and vulnerable people is taken seriously in your organisation.
