Get the International Audit Tool

We have worked with our members to develop this international self-audit tool to help those working with partners overseas.

This practical and easy-to-use tool gives a framework based on best practice within the UK which can be combined with the knowledge and understanding from partner organisations about their local context, infrastructure, and culture to develop an effective action plan.

The tool is built around seven core principles which include:

  1. Organisational culture
  2. Policy and Procedural standards
  3. Recruiting safely
  4. Training and development
  5. Safer working
  6. Recognising, responding and reporting concerns
  7. Working with overseas partners

It follows a three stage process of reviewing the arrangements of the UK organisation, dialogue with the overseas partner organisations, and the formulation of the action plan.

To receive the self-audit tool and accompanying guidance notes, simply submit your details below or alternatively you can call us on 0303 003 1111 or (+44) 01322 517817 if you’re outside of the UK to request a paper copy.

"We very much appreciated working with thirtyone:eight to refresh and move to forward our organisational safeguarding approach. The International audit tool provided a fantastic framework for assessing what we already had in place, to identify gaps in our approach and also provided guidance on best practice. We utilised this as the basis of our safeguarding action plan not only to further develop organisational policy and processes but also look at wider issues of culture."
