Tracking applications

Lead Recruiters and equivalent access

On the Dashboard you will see a section called Submitted. To track an application with the DBS, click on Processing, this will take you to a screen which will show all the applications for your organisation that are being processed by the DBS.

To track an enhanced application, click the word track in the right-hand column. This will take you directly into the DBS’s tracking page for that applicant.

Basic Disclosures can be tracked at Gov.uk/guidance/track-a-dbs-application

How long should an application take?

Each application is different and will take different journeys at the DBS. This means some can be completed the same day, while others might take a week or two

Unfortunately, there is nothing that you/ we can do until it has been outstanding at the local Police Force (Stage 4) for 60 days or more. Hopefully it will not be that long, but at that time, we will ask the DBS to escalate the application with the local police. They will then email the police to chase-up the application.

If following the above procedure, the application is still outstanding after a further 10 working days, the DBS will chase this up with the police again. We will make the Recruiter who submitted the application aware when this has been actioned.

Please rest assured that you can leave it to us to chase at the appropriate time.
